Liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols

Security measures for liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols in hand luggage are applied at all European airports.

Is considered as a paste, any product corresponding to a mixture or material of a soft or malleable consistency.
Ex.: foie gras, röstis, soft cheese like munster, fondue preparation, etc.

You are allowed to carry only small quantities of these products in your hand luggage under the following conditions:

  • the products must be stored in containers, each with a maximum capacity of 100 ml or 100 g
  • the containers must be placed in one closed, transparent plastic bag of the freezer bag type with a maximum capacity of one litre (format 20 x 20 cm)

This bag is to be presented separately from the hand baggage during the security checks.

Recommendation: Pack your liquid products in your hold baggage.

Exemptions:

  • Food for babies or young children needed during the flight
  • Liquid medicines needed during the flight
