New winter flight plan starting 27 October 2019

Over 550 departures per week in scheduled traffic to 72 airports with more than 20 airlines

The upcoming winter flight programme for EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (valid from 27 October 2019 to 28 March 2020), which takes effect with the changeover to winter time, offers a number of new features.

New highlights this winter include:
 
-    Agadir, one of Morocco's biggest tourist destinations, offered for the first time by easyJet and served with more flights (three times weekly) 
-    Hurghada, the largest tourist centre in Egypt located on the Red Sea coast, served for the first time by a scheduled flight from easyJet (once weekly)
-    Warsaw, the capital of Poland, operated for the first time by Wizz Air (twice weekly)
-    non-stop flights to Dubai served one weekly by the airline Holiday Europe on behalf of FTI Touristik
-    Sharm El Sheikh with flyEgypt one weekly, also served on behalf of FTI Touristik

As regards holiday flights, EuroAirport continues to offer alongside locations in Egypt (Hurghada) and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) a wide selection of winter sun holiday destinations: weekly departures to the Cape Verde Islands (Boa Vista and Sal), Spain (Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Palma de Majorca, Tenerife) and Turkey (Antalya, Izmir).

In summary, at EuroAirport this winter, more than 20 airlines will be offering more than 550 direct scheduled flights per week to more than 72 airports.

Traffic forecast for year-end 2019

For year-end 2019 and in contrast with the mid-year figures, EuroAirport forecasts weaker passenger growth of 4,4 %, taking the number of passengers to 9 million.
