Information from the Board of Directors of EuroAirport: death of Jean-Marie Zoellé, Member of the Board of Directors

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the tragic passing of Mr Jean-Marie Zoellé, Member of the Board of Directors, on Monday, 6 April 2020, at St. Petrus Hospital in Bonn.

Jean-Marie Zoellé died from COVID-19. This worldwide epidemic has struck our Airport most severely and has affected us personally and painfully with the loss of one of our Board members.

We share in the grief of Jean-Marie Zoellé’s family, the City Council of Saint-Louis and his close associates.

Jean-Marie Zoellé joined our Board of Directors in June 2014 after being re-elected Mayor of the City of Saint-Louis. Totally committed to the people of Saint-Louis, who had re-elected him by a large majority in the first round of the municipal elections on 15 March 2020, Mr Zoellé was also a dedicated Director of Basel-Mulhouse Airport. He was an important partner for the Airport. We had built up a relationship of mutual trust that served to strengthen the cooperation between the City of Saint-Louis, the conurbation community “Communauté d’Agglomération” and the Airport.

Jean-Marie Zoellé will be remembered as a man of great heart and a man of his word; he will be sorely missed.
