EuroAirport: 70 destinations on the winter 2021/2022 flight schedule

The new flight programme for winter 2021/2022 will apply with the change to Winter Time on 31 October 2021. The programme, which is valid until 26 March 2022, offers flights to 70 destinations in 29 countries, giving travelers the opportunity to fly directly to the main cities in Europe and near the Mediterranean sea – with  a focus on Egypt – and  inter-connects major international hubs with a choice between the three largest airline alliances. Some twenty airlines are in the starting blocks.

Egypt is the leading destination this winter
EuroAirport continues to connect the tri-national region to most European countries and Mediterranean destinations by direct flights, with 64 international destinations outside the tri-border countries, as well as six cities in France and four in Germany. The programme includes the customary holiday destinations: Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Turkey, with enhanced connectivity to Egypt. Four airlines are flying to Hurghada on the Red Sea: Air Cairo, Corendon Airlines, easyJet and FlyEgypt, with a choice of seven departures a week. Starting in November 2021, Sharm-el-Sheikh is back among the destinations served from EuroAirport, with one easyJet departure a week.
Corendon Airlines is a new operator flying to the Spanish islands of Fuerteventura, Grand Canaria, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca and Teneriffa. Portugal remains a popular destination this winter, with flights to Faro, Lisbon and Porto – both the latter on a daily basis. Italy has not been left out: Palermo, a new addition this summer, will be maintained on the winter schedule together with Brindisi, Cagliari in Sardinia, Catania in Sicily, and Rome for a total of 17 departures per week to Italy.

The winter programme includes several novelties: Zagreb, the Croatian capital  served by Ryanair, Tirana in Albania, as well as Banja Luka and Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina served by Wizzair.
easyJet will base two brand new Airbus A320neos at EuroAirport from the end of the year. Air Cairo, British Airways, Corendon Airlines, Helvetic Airways, Turkish Airlines and Wizzair are also equipped with the more efficient and less noisy last generation aircraft of the Airbus A320/A321neo, Boeing 737MAX, and Embraer E190/195E2 families.

Hubs inter-connected anew
This coming winter 2021/2022, the three major airline alliances will serve the main international hubs from Basel-Mulhouse Airport. Skyteam with Air France to Paris Charles-de-Gaulle and KLM to Amsterdam, Star Alliance with Lufthansa to Munich and Frankfurt, Brussels Airlines to Brussels and Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, and One World with British Airways to Londron. In addition to the British capital, there are flights this winter to Edinburgh in Scotland, and to Bristol and Manchester. The links to the hubs will facilitate connections to the United States which is reopening its borders to Europeans under certain conditions in November.

The winter flight programme can be downloaded from the EuroAirport website and on the EuroAirport app which can be downloaded to all smartphones. Destinations, airlines, and frequencies are regularly updated on the webpage Travel Safely - our destinations.

NB: pandemic-related changes in the public health situation will have an immediate impact on the flight schedule. When booking their flights and before departure, passengers are strongly advised to contact their airlines and the competent authorities for information about the current status and the requirements to be met in the country of departure and the country of arrival to reach their destination.
At the same time, EuroAirport recommends that passengers get to the Airport well in advance to allow for the longer queues caused by the additional pandemic-related checks.
