Construction of a new roundabout on the airport road in the Swiss sector at one kilometre from the passenger terminal building: temporary traffic deviation in place
As a result of the construction of a new roundabout on the airport road in the Swiss sector one kilometre from the passenger terminal building a temporary deviation has been put into place on the right-hand side of the road close to the S4 car park.
Starting Wednesday, 22 January 2020, traffic from Basel to the Airport has been deviated close to the S4 car park at a distance of one kilometre from the airport building. Road users have to turn right, drive along the car park S4, turn left and drive between the car parks S4 and S3. After 500 metres, drivers are redirected to the usual road system at the last roundabout before the airport building (see map). Drivers are requested to follow the signs in place.
The road works are estimated to last for two months and the traffic route from the airport to Basel remains unchanged.
During the road works, EuroAirport advises passengers and other people coming to the airport using the airport road from Basel to allow enough time for their journey.
As a result of the deviation in place, road users are requested to reduce their speed and to exercise caution, especially with regard to pedestrians and cyclists.
