Ascension and Pentecost 2025: travel at ease thanks to a good preparation

A very high volume of passengers is expected at EuroAirport over the coming Ascension and Pentecost weekends. An early arrival at the Airport is therefore strongly recommended. Thanks to a good preparation, passengers can contribute to flawless check-in procedures and security checks.

Over the coming Ascension and Pentecost weekends, a very high volume of passengers is expected at EuroAirport. This inevitably leads to longer waiting times at checkpoints for both departures and arrivals. An early arrival at the Airport - at least two hours before departure - is therefore strongly recommended.

A meticulous preparation of your journey before departure
It is therefore advisable to inquire about entry requirements imposed by the respective airline as well as the country of destination well before departure. Is an ID card sufficient, or is a passport and maybe a visa required as well?

Those who have the option to do an online check-in can also save time. Please check with your airline if online check-in is available.

The number of parking spaces is limited. For passengers arriving by car, it is advisable to reserve a parking spot in advance and to schedule sufficient time for parking. In general, the Airport advises to use public transportation.

Saving time at the Airport
Increased passenger volumes may lead to longer waiting times at both passport control and the check-in zones. We therefore advise travellers to arrive early at the Airport and to keep their documents ready for check-in at the counter and passport control.

In order to go through the security checks at ease and to avoid unnecessary waiting times, we invite passengers to get information in advance concerning the types of items allowed as hand luggage and items that have to be packed within the checked baggage. Certain items are not permitted on the flight due to security reasons.

The expected increase in passenger volume is a challenge for all partners involved on the airport platform. We do everything we can to ensure that travellers have the best possible passenger experience.

Relax and enjoy your stay at the Airport with new catering options
Passengers who plan to spend a little extra time at the Airport can now enjoy an expanded range of catering options: since early May 2025, numerous new gastronomic offerings have been available both in the public area and in the departure area after security screening.

The selection is based on extensive passenger surveys, which revealed a high demand for local products, healthy and wholesome foods as well as organic options. The result is a diverse range of culinary offers – from seasonal street food and Italian cuisine to vegetarian and healthy, balanced snacks. The focus is set on meals that are easy and quick to enjoy, such as sandwiches, quiches, and salads.
