EuroAirport recorded a strong overall performance in 2025. Activities across its three Strategic Business Areas (Passengers, Cargo and Industry) developed positively, reflected in a total of 9.6 million passengers, more than 6 700 jobs on the airport platform and a revenue of 185 million EUR.
The year 2024 saw a return to life before the pandemic as well as a recovery in air traffic, as reflected in EuroAirport’s three Strategic Business Areas. Passenger and cargo volumes recovered to close to 2019 levels while the Industry business segment, which specialises in aircraft maintenance and conversion, was once again robust.
While air traffic is recovering at EuroAirport after weathering the pandemic, traffic figures have not yet returned to 2019 levels. At the same time, the aviation sector faces major challenges, with the decarbonisation of air traffic being a key goal for the next few decades. Further reducing night-time aircraft noise pollution is another major priority for the Airport.
The gradual lifting of restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an economic recovery from which the entire aviation industry has profited.
The Airport benefited from this strong upswing primarily in the Strategic Business Area Passengers.

The second year of the global COVID-19 crisis continued to present challenges for Basel-Mulhouse Airport. Passenger numbers remained very low at the start of the year although the situation stabilised following the removal of travel restrictions in the summer. By the end of the year, the Airport welcomed 3.6 million passengers, 39% more than in 2020 and 60% fewer than in 2019.
2020 was an extra-ordinary year: no preceding crisis has ever had an impact similar to what we are experiencing in these times of pandemic. Aviation is one of the most severely impacted industries: EuroAirport saw passenger traffic plunge by 71% compared with 2019.
