Check-in

For a smooth travel experience, it’s recommended to arrive at the Airport early and to familiarise yourself with the check‑in process beforehand.
Please find below an overview of the various check‑in options – online, at kiosks, at the check-in counter or the evening before (“early check-in”).

Recommended time of arrival at the Airport

It is recommended to arrive at the Airport at least 2 hours before departure. For international flights or during busy periods (e.g., vacation periods, weekends, early‑morning flights), allow extra time.

Please take into account the following steps:

  • Check‑in and luggage drop-off
  • Security screening
  • Time in the terminal (shopping, dining, duty‑free)
  • Walking to the departure gate

Note: During peak times, there may be longer waiting times – especially at security and/or passport control for international (non-Schengen) flights. It is recommended to proceed to security immediately after check-in.

Online check‑in (recommended)

Many airlines offer online check‑in starting 24 to 48 hours before departure. Boarding passes can be printed at home or saved digitally onto a mobile device.

Benefits:

  • Shorter waiting times
  • Saving time at the Airport
  • Contactless and convenient

You can drop off your luggage at the Airport either at the standard check‑in counter or the "Baggage Drop‑off".

Information about participating airlines:
 See airline overview

Check‑in at the counter

Available for passengers with checked luggage or special requirements (e.g., traveling with small children or special luggage).

  • Typically opens 2 hours before departure
  • Individual times may vary by airline

Oversized luggage (e.g., strollers, sports equipment) must be declared at the counter and then delivered to designated oversized luggage areas.

Further information:
 See airline overview

Check-in the evening before (“early check-in”)

Some airlines allow check‑in the evening before departure. This applies to flights departing at the latest by noon the following day.

Participating airlines:
 See airline overview

Self-check‑in at kiosks

Self‑ckeck-in kiosks (Self Bag Drop, SBD) are available in the Departure Hall for passengers of certain airlines in Hall 2.

This is how it works:

  • Create your boarding pass in advance via online check-in
  • Identify yourself at the kiosk with your boarding pass and print out the required baggage tags
  • Attach the baggage tags to your luggage
  • Then drop off your luggage at a baggage drop-off point
