Refurbishment of EuroAirport’s main runway
In the spring of 2026, EuroAirport’s central section of main runway 15/33 as well as Taxiway Bravo were refurbished. The work was carried out to ensure long-term safety and operational readiness of central airfield areas. The main runway was completely closed during the construction phase and reopened on May 16, 2026.

One of the Airport’s key concerns is to improve service quality for passengers. The last terminal building conversion was carried out from 2000 to 2002 with the construction of a Y-shaped finger dock and the extensions of the main building towards the north and south. Today, the Airport is facing a new situation
NLF (New Rail Link)
Today, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freibourg is only accessible by road. Tomorrow, with the addition of a six-kilometre section of railway track and a new stop opposite the airport terminal, the train will offer passengers a true alternative to the road.
