Refurbishment of EuroAirport’s main runway
After decades of intense operational use, EuroAirport’s main runway 15/33 is in need of refurbishment. Construction work is scheduled for spring 2026 and, due to safety reasons, will require a complete closure of the runway from April 15 to May 20, 2026. The secondary runway 07/25 will remain in operation during this period, allowing for limited flight operations to continue.

One of the Airport’s key concerns is to improve service quality for passengers. The last terminal building conversion was carried out from 2000 to 2002 with the construction of a Y-shaped finger dock and the extensions of the main building towards the north and south. Today, the Airport is facing a new situation
NLF (New Rail Link)
Today, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freibourg is only accessible by road. Tomorrow, with the addition of a six-kilometre section of railway track and a new stop opposite the airport terminal, the train will offer passengers a true alternative to the road.
