Mission

EuroAirport ensures air transportation connectivity for the Trinational region of Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. In doing so, it takes into account the principles of sustainable development.

Strategy

EAP 23 Strategy: Shaping the Future – Sustainable, Regional, Connected

EuroAirport’s EAP 23 strategy is defined by the interplay of three core areas:

  1. Strengthening central transport infrastructure in service of the Trinational region.
  2. Anticipating new challenges in aviation and responding in a targeted manner.
  3. Consistently implementing sustainable development across all airport activities.

Sustainable Development as a Guiding Principle
EuroAirport’s development is based on the principle of sustainability. Through “EAP 23”, the airport pursues a clear strategic direction, focusing on four strategic priorities:

Service Quality in Focus

Goal: Improve service quality for passengers
• Provision of modern, efficient infrastructure
• Creation of a comfortable, needs-oriented passenger experience
• Expansion of an attractive destination portfolio
• Promotion of economic benefits for the entire tri-national region

Balanced Air Traffic Development

Goal: Advance air traffic development with a differentiated approach
• Clear distinction between day and night flight operations
• Consideration of regional needs and conditions
• Sustainable management of air traffic growth

Strengthening Environmental and Climate Protection

Goal: Reduce the airport’s environmental impact
• Reduction of aircraft noise – especially during nighttime hours
• Development and implementation of an ambitious decarbonization plan
• Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions across the entire airport platform (Scopes 1 to 3)

A Future-Oriented Industrial Location

Goal: Expand economic potential at the site
• Further development of the strategic business area “Industry”
• Establishment of new, future-oriented business sectors
• Creation of synergies with regional and international partners

Together for the Region

With the “EAP 23” strategy, EuroAirport sets clear priorities for a sustainable, economically strong, and future-ready development – in service of the people and businesses in the Trinational region.
