Qatar Airways Cargo launches twice weekly “Pharma Express” freighters from EuroAirport to Doha

Starting today, Wednesday, 28 January 2015, Qatar Airways Cargo will be launching two weekly Airbus 330 freighter services from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse Freiburg to Doha. With these flights, Qatar Airways Cargo is also launching its new “Pharma Express” service, the first of its kind in the industry, offering air freight to the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. The new “Pharma Express” service will link two key pharmaceutical sites, Brussels and Basel, with the extensive Qatar Airways’ network, via Doha, Qatar.

Qatar Airways Cargo is operating the new “Pharma Express” service using an Airbus 330 following the routing Doha-Brussels-Basel-Doha. The new flights are scheduled to arrive at EuroAirport every Wednesday and every Saturday at 20.15 hours, departing same day at 21.45 hours local time.

EuroAirport Management is delighted to welcome Qatar Airways Cargo and its new “Pharma Express” service which is completely in line with the needs of the local pharmaceutical and health-care industries. The decision confirms the attractiveness of the EuroAirport site which is situated near to Basel, home to some of the world’s major pharmaceutical companies. It also confirms the market relevance of the new Cargo Terminal which was inaugurated on 25 November 2014 and will go into service on 26 January 2015.

The new 21 000 m2 EuroAirport Cargo Terminal represents an investment of 40 million euros and offers state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled infrastructure perfectly matching the cool-chain requirements of local industry and logistics companies as well as extremely efficient freight processing.
