PAUL and WECKMANN – ELIOR opens two new restaurants at EuroAirport

As part of its modernisation of the catering facilities at EuroAirport, ELIOR has just opened two new branded sales points on the third floor departures level in the airport terminal building: PAUL on the French side and WECKMANN on the Swiss side.

These two new distinctively different restaurants are in perfect tune with EuroAirport’s binational identity, and reflect ELIOR's expertise at providing strong customised concepts in line with passenger expectations. On the French side, PAUL is a fast food brand renowned for its quality in France, while on the Swiss side WECKMANN is based on a Basel sandwich and pastry bar concept.

PAUL and WECKMANN are the first two catering points managed by ELIOR to be opened in the public area of EuroAirport. Following a call for tenders issued at the beginning of 2012, ELIOR won 80% of the market, or 10 of the 13 planned sales points at the airport including PAUL, WECKMANN, DAILYMONOP, Bert’s, CLOUD CAFE, COLUMBUS CAFE, SAM BAR, a Food Court with three brands Francesca, Courtepaille and Le Bar à salades, the EuroAirport staff restaurant under the name of “L’Alsacienne de Restauration” as well as the “3 Länder restaurant”.

Together with the two new complementary brands ELIOR employs a total staff of 95 people and in the last few months has created 10 new jobs. As a committed employer, ELIOR has set up training and support courses for employees taken over from the former concessionary and for new recruits.

Launched on 1 October 2013, the new catering concept will be introduced gradually throughout the airport until the end of 2014. In doing so, EuroAirport’s management aims to diversify and update its catering offering, bringing it into line with the evolution in passenger trends and customer expectations.

The future constellation of new catering points will offer customers more choice in terms of atmosphere, service, products and price in all zones and sectors of the airport.
