Opening of the EuroAirport Skyview Lounge

An oasis of relaxation in the heart of the boarding area, now open to all passengers

On Friday, 15 March 2013, at an official ceremony attended by business, airport authority and media representatives, Jürg Rämi, Director of EuroAirport and Olivier Matthey, Senior Vice-President Basel, Swissport International Ltd. opened the EuroAirport Skyview Lounge.

Specially branded the “EuroAirport Skyview Lounge” for the occasion, the lounge formerly run by Swiss International Air Lines was taken over by EuroAirport in October 2012 and fully refurbished during the first quarter of 2013. Following a call for tenders, EuroAirport awarded the lounge operation to Swissport International Ltd.

Voted “Best European Lounge” three times and “World’s Best Lounge” in April 2012 by “Priority Pass”, the world’s largest independent airport lounge access programme, the EuroAirport Skyview Lounge unveiled its new look today. It combines new palm trees, 1,300 m2 of parquet flooring treated with natural oil and an extended culinary offering.

With its huge glass dome and impressive architecture, the EuroAirport Skyview Lounge covers a total surface area of more than 1,700 m2 on three floors where passengers can spend time and relax or work.

Facilities include snacks, hot meals, drinks, television corners, a full selection of newspapers and magazines, free Internet access and showers.

An important further feature of the EuroAirport Skyview Lounge is that it is now open to all passengers (with entitlement or by paid admission).
