On Friday, 18 August 2017 the Korean airline Korean Air landed a charter plane at EuroAirport for the first time. The flight is one of four chartered flights to carry tourists interested in culture from Seoul to the region and back again via EuroAirport.

On four consecutive Fridays during the holiday period Korean Air will run a charter passenger service to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg for the first time. Departing from Seoul, the pale blue Airbus A330-200 with more than 200 seats landed for the first time on Friday, 18 August 2017, at 4.35 p.m. local time.

Initiator of the passenger charter service is Hanjin Travel, a Korean cultural travel operator. The around 400 passengers arriving and departing from EuroAirport will explore France, Switzerland and Germany in various travel groups. During their one-week stay, visits to Basel, Mulhouse and Freiburg are on the programme.
