Barbara Horlacher is EuroAirport’s new Head of Environment

Barbara Horlacher assumed her post as EuroAirport’s Head of Environment at the beginning of June 2014. Backed by a small team and working in close cooperation with the airport’s management, she will contribute to the development of EuroAirport’s environmental policy and management.

Barbara Horlacher is a graduate environmental scientist from ETH Zurich and completed a postgraduate degree in economics at the AKAD (Swiss Academy for Adult Education) in Zurich. She has over 15 years of professional experience in the environmental field.

Ms Horlacher gained her initial work experience as scientific assistant to the environmental affairs coordinator at cement manufacturer Holcim. She was then employed as environmental project manager at Zurich Airport for five years, in charge of the environmental communication, energy management and biodiversity sectors. In 2007 she took up her post in the Aarau municipal environmental agency, where she was responsible for the implementation and development of the town's energy and climate policy.

Barbara Horlacher is a Swiss national. Born and brought up in Brugg (AG), she attended the cantonal school in Aarau (AG). Her native language is German and she also speaks French and English. Ms Horlacher is 43 years old.
