Announcement of the Board of Directors of EuroAirport: Death of Chairman Jean-Pierre Lavielle

This weekend we received the sad news of the sudden death of Jean-Pierre Lavielle, Chairman of the Board of Directors, which happened on 2 August 2018.

We are deeply shocked by this unexpected loss. Our thoughts go particularly to his wife, Lisette Lavielle and his family and we join them in their sorrow. We convey our deepest condolences and every support to them in this difficult time.

Jean-Pierre Lavielle joined the Board of Directors in November 2006. He was greatly appreciated for his personal qualities and consensual approach to affairs.

Inspired by a truly binational spirit, he strived to maintain high quality Franco-Swiss relations and to foster closely knit ties between the members of the Board. Over the past years, he pursued with dedication the airport’s development and projects for the future. He was committed to preserve the framework conditions needed for companies to expand activities at the airport site while aiming to strike a balance between business and environmental considerations.

We pay tribute to him and bid him adieu with sadness.

Pending the appointment of a new Chairman of the Board, all chairmanship duties will be assumed by Raymond Cron, Vice Chairman, in an interim capacity.
