26 January 2015 – new Cargo Terminal is in service and welcomes its first full freighter

Today, Monday 26 January 2015, the new Cargo Terminal at EuroAirport went officially into service. During the weekend, the freight companies on the airport site took part in a coordinated removal plan finalizing transfer of office equipment and operations to the new Cargo Terminal as scheduled.

Altogether, 30 companies have now moved into their new premises in the French and Swiss sectors of the new Cargo Terminal.

The first full freighter to arrive on the apron of the new Cargo Terminal was the LAN CARGO flight to South America. On arrival this afternoon at 5 pm local time, the Boeing 777F was welcomed with a traditional water showering by the airport fire service.

In the first week of operations, the new Cargo Terminal will welcome five further freighters on the new apron – new flights with Qatar Airways Cargo on Wednesday and Saturday, Air Bridge Cargo on Friday followed by Emirates SkyCargo and Korean Air on Sunday.
