Influenza A(H1N1)


Sunday morning, 27 April 2009, the Ministry of Health and Sports of the French Republic published the following information concerning influenza A(H1N1).
 

To passengers travelling to a country affected by influenza A(H1N1)


You are advised to closely monitor the international and local health situation by consulting the following websites:

During your stay you are requested to:

  • comply with the recommendations issued by the local health authorities, in particular: 
    • avoid public gatherings 
    • follow basic hygiene rules, in particular, wash your hands thoroughly and often with soap and water or alcohol hand sanitizer, and air out the rooms you spend time in, 
    • avoid contact with sick people
  • contact the diplomatic mission if necessary 
  • consult a doctor if you have a fever or flu symptoms (in particular body aches and muscle pain).
 

To passengers returning from a country affected by influenza A(H1N1)


Influenza A(H1N1) is present in the area where you have been travelling. Monitor your state of health for seven days following your return.

Symptoms of influenza A(H1N1) include: 

  • fever of more than 38° or body aches and fatigue 
  • accompanied by respiratory symptoms: cough or shortness of breath.


If you develop these symptoms within 7 days of your return, contact your doctor or the Emergency Medical Services in your department or region (telephone number in France: 15).
